*Participants who are currently in our Spring program receive priority.
For example, during FULL WEEK Member registration, participants who are currently in the program receive priority.
The same rule applies for Part-time Member Registration as well as all Non-Member registrations.

We have Covid-19 Health & Safety Policies in place to make staff and participants’ well-being our priority.

We are happy to unveil our 2021 Summer Junior Tennis Program. In light of COVID-19, we will continue to make sure that we have protocols set in place to ensure we are providing the safest environment possible. Aside from that, our main goal is to provide first class quality lessons while maintaining the safest environment possible on and off our courts. We understand that every family or individual has different health and safety comfort levels and want to make sure we all take that into consideration.

Progressive

Red Ball Tennis Camp (4-5yrs) (4:1 Coach to Student Ratio)

Days & Times: Monday-Friday (max. 8) 9:00-11:00am

Rate: 2 hour Camp: Member $56.00/class, Non-Member $68/class
10% Discount for full week participants.

This camp is an introduction to tennis which allows participants to work on basic fundamentals and motor skills. Red felt compression balls are used for children to make contact with the ball more consistently which helps their development. The goal of this camp is for juniors to enjoy the game of tennis and have them wanting to come back for more.

Orange Ball Morning Tennis Camp (6-9yrs) (4:1 Coach to Student Ratio)

Days & Times: Regular – Monday-Friday (max. 8) 9:00-12:00noon

Orange Ball Afternoon Tennis Camp (6-9yrs) (4:1 Coach to Student Ratio)

Regular – Monday (max. 8) /Wednesday (max. 8) /Friday (max. 8) 4:00-6:00pm
Advanced – Monday (max. 4) /Wednesday (max. 4) /Friday (max. 4) 4:00-6:00pm

3 hour Camp: Member $84/class, Non-Member $102/class
2 hour Camp: Member $56.00/class, Non-Member $68/class

This group is for players who are starting to learn and develop the skills needed to perform at an adequate level. Orange felt compression balls are used to make it easier for juniors at this age not only make contact with the ball more frequently but also in time, rally balls to make tennis enjoyable. Smaller courts are also used to help facilitate relative dimensions to help their skills.

Green Dot Ball Morning Tennis Camp (9-10yrs) (4:1 Coach to Student Ratio)

Days & Times: Regular – Monday-Friday (max. 8) 9:00-12:00noon

Green Dot Ball Afternoon Tennis Camp (9-10yrs) (4:1 Coach to Student Ratio)

Regular – Tuesday (max. 8) /Thursday (max. 8) /4:00-6:00pm
Advanced – Tuesday (max. 4) /Thursday (max. 4) /4:00-6:00pm

This group is for players who have just transitioned from our Orange Court Group. Athletes within this group are transitioning to a full court with a slightly lower compression ball to enhance their skills. The main focus within this group is to improve tactics and consistency and give technical feedback in the process. Players within this group should be playing in Tennis BC U10 Future Stars events.

Development / Competitive

‘Tween Tennis Camp 9-12 yrs (4:1 Coach to Student Ratio)

Days & Times: Monday to Friday (max 4) 2:00-4:00pm
First and Third Week of July and August

Rate: 2 hour Camp: Member $56.00/class, Non-Member $68/class
10% Discount for full week participants.

This group is for juniors from ages 9-12 years old who are either just being introduced to the game of tennis or are looking to improve their skills at a developmental level. The main goal of this group is to emphasize a fun atmosphere and enjoyment of the game through fun game based learning.

Teen Tennis Camp 12yrs+ (4:1 Coach to Student Ratio)

Days & Times: Monday to Friday (max 4) 2:00-4:00pm
Second and Fourth Week of July and August

Rate: 2 hour Camp: Member $56.00/class, Non-Member $68/class
10% Discount for full week participants.

This group mainly targets teens who are interested in advancing their tennis game in a fun but focused atmosphere. Coaches in this group will be teaching a lot of technical and tactical work so that they can improve each athlete’s knowledge of the game and hopefully put them in a position to play the game correctly. If you are looking to possibly play school tennis or just learn the fundamentals of tennis, this group is for you.

Performance

Futures Camp (10-12 yrs) (4:1 Coach to Student Ratio)

Days & Times: Monday-Friday (max 8) 2:00-4:00pm

Rate: 2 hour Camp – Member $56/class, Non-member $68/class

This group is for young aspiring tennis players who are looking to continue training the technical, tactical, physical, mental, and emotional components of the game. The main goal of this group is to emphasize and continue to mold each athlete’s basic fundamentals and set them up for a positive future in tennis. Successful Futures participants eventually filter into our High Performance groups when they reach the appropriate age or level. All players in this group should be participating in Tennis BC Champs and Developmental tennis events.

High Performance 1 Camp (16+ years of age)

Days & Times: Monday-Friday (max 8) 12:00noon-2:00pm, Saturday 10:00am-12:00noon

Rate: 2 hour Camp – Member $56/class, Non-member $68/class
10% Discount for full week participants.

This group is for serious tennis players who have the focus and desire to train, play, and compete. It is required for all athletes within this group to participate in provincial, national or international level tennis events. All participants will work on situational play, focus on technical requirements, and the mental rigors of competing at a high level. All players in this group must be approved by the Director of Tennis prior to enrolling in the class.

High Performance 2 Camp (11-15 years of age)

Days & Times: Monday-Friday (max 8) 12:00noon-2:00pm, Saturday 10:00am-12:00noon

Rate: 2 hour Camp – Member $56/class, Non-member $68/class
10% Discount for full week participants.

This group is for serious tennis players who have the focus and desire to train, play, and compete. It is required for all athletes within this group to participate in provincial, national or international level tennis events. All players in this group must be approved by the Director of Racquets and Athletics prior to enrolling in the class.

Selection Criteria Priority for all High Performance Summer Camp Participants

  1. RCC HP Member Participants – program participants who have been in the program the longest receive 1st priority
  2. RCC HP Guest Participants – program participants who have been in the program the longest receive 1st priority
  3. RCC HP NEW Guest Participants

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • We are offering multiple group times to try to accommodate the majority of participants.
  • If certain groups have low registration, we will do our best to shift participants into other group times or shift the actual group time to one that is most accommodating to everyone.
  • Richmond Country Club has the right to cancel classes that have less than 3 participants.
  • Rain days will be transferred as credit for future classes.
  • If we can secure indoor courts during rain days, we will notify the participants by email.

GROUP CUSTOMIZATION

  • If families/participants would like to form their own group (minimum of 3), we will try to facilitate within our schedule.
  • We will honour the group rate for custom groups.
  • All inquiries can be directed to the Director of Racquets and Athletics at hchoi@richmondcc.ca.

Registration
Please click the links above to register online. Participants who were registered in our Spring Program will receive first priority for our Summer Programs. If spots remain open, we will invite new participants to join the group on a first come first served basis. The priority for group acceptance is as follows: 1. RCC members, 2. Non-member spring participants, 3. New participants.

All new participants must complete and submit our COVID-19 form.

Full Week Registration **10% SAVINGS**
For all full week registrations (Monday-Friday or on short weeks, Monday-Thursday), a 10% discount will be applied to your total.

Invoicing Process
Once you choose which days you wish to participate in for the summer we will invoice you immediately. We require full payment in order to confirm your registration. For example, if you choose to attend a specific class every Tuesday and Thursday in July we will invoice you for the full amount and your spot will be held only once payment is received.

Payment
Once you confirm your spot in the program, an invoice will be sent to you. To confirm your spot, non-member payments by e-transfer must be made to hchoi@richmondcc.ca. All RCC Members will be charged directly to their accounts. Credit card payments are available over the phone but are subject to a 3% fee. E-transfers are highly recommended instead of debit payments to decrease the amount of traffic flow within the club and to keep everyone safe.

Group Customization
For families/participants who would like to organize a custom weekly camp with 3 or more juniors, we can try to facilitate this within our program schedule. Camp rates will apply.

Rain Outs
If rain outs occur, credits will be applied to future classes throughout the summer.

Court Occupancy
We will have no more than 3-4 students on a court at any given time.

Temperature Checks
We will have temperature checks prior to each class. This is to ensure the health and safety of all coaches and participants. Any participant who has a high temperature will not be admitted to the group lesson and parents will be contacted. Make-up classes will be available if there is space. No refunds.

COVID-19 Policy
Participants and coaches will not be allowed to attend group lessons if they have symptoms of illness of any kind. They may not use the facility if they have travelled outside of British Columbia within the past 14 days. They cannot have been exposed to anyone with known or suspected Covid-19 symptoms or anyone who has travelled outside of BC within the past 14 days.

Outdoor Courts
Due to the high demand of our outdoor courts, there will be times where some participants may have be inside for their group lesson. We will do our best to ensure there are equal amounts of time outdoors for all participants. Please prepare for both indoor and outdoor lessons each day.

Waiver Forms
All participants must complete and submit a Covid-19 and Program Policy form to complete their registration. This will be emailed to all new participants.
